Andres Gil Zaldana

Colorado Brewers Guild
Executive Director
Andres is a lifelong supporter of craft beer and is excited to support for the Colorado craft beer industry as the Colorado Brewers Guild’s (“CBG”) new Executive Director.  Born in Mount Vernon, New York, Andres is the son of Colombian immigrants who were looking for a better life in the United States.  After several years in New York, his family moved to southeast Georgia, where Andres developed a love for politics, history, and public policy.  Andres attended the University of Virginia as an undergraduate and majored in the Political Philosophy, Policy, and Law program.  After UVa, Andres decided to enroll at law school and graduated with high honors from the George Washington University School of Law.  While he was there, he focused on general business, corporate, and tax law classes.  After a brief time at a multinational corporate law firm in Washington, D.C., Andres decided that he wanted to reenter the public policy space.  He joined the law firm of K&L Gates and focused his practice on tax and financial services matters impacting businesses of all sizes and the broader capital markets.  During his time at K&L Gates, Andres also traveled abroad and helped establish the financial services public policy practice of the firm’s Brussels, Belgium office.  He then joined his client, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, as a Director of its Center for Capital Markets Competitiveness.  While at the Chamber, Andres had the opportunity to advocate on behalf of small businesses seeking regulatory relief and access to affordable financial services.  He worked with several Chambers across the state to host roundtables on these issues and supported Congressional efforts to address these issues as well.  Eventually, Andres decided to move to Boulder, Colorado, to get married to his longtime partner Sarah.  They had started dating as undergraduates at the University of Virginia and had continued their relationship through several years of long distance.  Several months after moving to Colorado, Andres was fortunate enough to find that CBG was searching for a new Executive Director.  He applied and was happy to find that his skill set would be useful to CBG and directly relevant to their goal of protecting and promoting a diverse Colorado craft beer industry.  Andres looks forward to this opportunity and the chance to work directly with Colorado brewers in addressing their business, commercial, regulatory, and community needs.
